Josi enjoys tackling the most challenging cases and legal questions, offering thoughtful advice to businesses and individuals in the critical crossroads of litigation.
She thrives in the fast-paced world of trial work, representing clients in a variety of industries, including technology, health care, law, real estate, and construction. Josi excels at making sense of complicated cases and quickly being able to explain those cases to a judge, jury, or arbitrator.
Josi is passionate about courtroom advocacy and has trial experience in state courts, federal courts, and arbitrations. She’s taken cases to trial on claims for partnership dissolution, patent infringement, product liability, professional malpractice, and breach of contract. Most recently, she secured two trial victories. The first was a total victory representing plaintiff-homeowners in a real estate agent professional malpractice case. In another case, she secured a victory for a business owner navigating the breakdown of a business partnership.
Many cases never reach trial or arbitration—nor should they. Josi has experience successfully mediating cases, big and small, by having an excellent handle on the legal issues and risks of a given case. She has extensive experience managing client relationships and assessing risk in advance of trial, both for individuals and institutional clients. She approaches her practice with stringent standards of excellence and makes sure clients are heard and informed every step of the way.
Josi shares her experience through videos and posts on her LinkedIn page, providing tips and tricks to litigation associates, focusing on trial work.
Josi is involved in her community, with an interest in civic engagement, mentorship, and community-building. She serves on the Executive Committee for the Civics Learning Project (CLP) Board of Directors and serves as the Gala Committee co-chair, helping plan CLP’s largest fundraising event of the year. Josi is also a member of the Multnomah Bar Association Professionalism Committee, helping write articles on professionalism and organizing mentorship opportunities for young lawyers.
