Jermaine has spent much of his career litigating on behalf of Oregonians, taking on individuals and businesses who have violated Oregon’s laws. From consumer protection to public records disputes and child welfare matters, his experience as an assistant attorney general for the State of Oregon is invaluable to his clients.
Now in private practice at Markowitz Herbold, Jermaine works on some of the firm’s most complex cases and is a key member of the government litigation practice. He has particular expertise in public records requests for governmental entities.

Jermaine also served as a special assistant counsel to former Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber where he represented multiple public bodies including Cover Oregon, the Office of the Governor, the Department of Human Services, the Department of Justice, the Department of Consumer and Business Services, and the Oregon Health Authority.
After law school, Jermaine served as a law clerk for the Honorable Darleen Ortega of the Oregon Court of Appeals. Jermaine is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Oregon School of Law.
