Chad Naso is a creative and insightful litigator with nearly 15 years of experience helping clients navigate complex and high-stakes challenges.

His commercial litigation practice focuses on class action defense, complex commercial litigation, and employment law.

Chad is a skilled writer and advocate with a proven track record of getting results for his clients. Representative examples of his experience include:

• Second-chaired a five day arbitration hearing involving claims seeking more than $10 million based on a complex real estate dispute.

• Wrote summary judgment briefing on behalf of an international software company that was sued for breach of contract and violations of wage statutes, resulting in a decisive win for the client and a favorable settlement.

• Successfully obtained a six-figure judgment for a local cannabis organization in a state court bench trial.

• Defended Oregon State officials in civil rights class actions brought in federal court.

• Briefed and successfully argued an anti-SLAPP motion on behalf of proponents of a local recall effort sued under Oregon’s Corrupt Practices Act.

• Negotiated a favorable settlement for a pro bono client asserting housing discrimination by his landlord.

In addition, as a member of the firm’s employment practice group, Chad routinely advises clients regarding discrimination claims, sexual harassment allegations, noncompetition/nonsolicitation agreements, and trade secrets.

Before joining Markowitz Herbold, Chad served as an Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia where he was the recipient of the Charles L. Reischel Award for Outstanding Legal Writing and the Attorney General’s Exemplary Service Award.
