Josephine (Josi) Kovacs is a commercial litigator who focuses her practice on contract disputes, shareholder disputes, construction defects, and business tort litigation.

Josi enjoys tackling complex cases. Before joining Markowitz Herbold, she litigated hundreds of cases including construction service and defect, product liability, personal injury, premises liability, employment, and other commercial claims.

Recently Josi served as second chair in a breach of contract trial representing a lead engine and transmission service provider and secured a favorable outcome for the client. She led the cross-examination of one of the plaintiffs, drafted outlines for direct and cross-examinations of witnesses, and managed discovery.

Josi has extensive experience in managing client relationships and assessing risk in advance of trial.

Josi attended Boston University School of Law and received a Master of Laws – LLM from the Universite’ Pantheon Assas in Paris, France. She earned her undergraduate degree from Barnard College of Columbia University in New York.
